How About Bermuda? Um, YES!

Since last year sometime, yes, last year, Brandon and I have been humming/singing these lyrics,
Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama
Key Largo Montego,
baby why don't we go
Ooh I wanna take you down to Kokomo,
we'll get there fast
and then we'll take it slow
That's where we wanna go,
way down in Kokomo.

Now we didn't go to all the places in the song but we did go to Bermuda. Brandon qualified for a trip there through State Farm. We've been pumped about it for months and months. We were gone for 7 days, just he and I. :) The twins stayed home with Aunt Hanna and Uncle Chris (they did a marvelous job with the boys by the way and I worried a whole lot less than I thought I would because of them).
Let me tell you about six of my favorite things about Bermuda. 1st. the volcanic rock and lime stone that was everywhere. In a lot of places it was hand carved and beautifully done.
2nd. The crystal caves. Amazing. I've never seen anything like that before. These caves were discovered by two twelve year old boys looking for a lost ball back in 1908. They climbed 160 ft down with only a very small light and swam for three hours in almost the pitch black. As you can tell from the pictures the water was so clear that we could see at least 45 ft down, although the pictures don't quite do it justice. Like I said, absolutely amazing.
That same day we also visited the Bermuda aquarium and zoo. Not quite as cool as the caves but still fun. :)
My 3rd favorite thing, the water/beaches. Holy cow they were gorgeous. And every day the weather was perfect so we spent many hours outside soaking up the sun (something I appreciate extra now because of the boys).
4th. I've never seen so many churches in my entire life. I thought Virginia had a lot, no, nothing compared to Bermuda. They were all over and everyone unique. What I loved most about them was how colorful they were, although I didn't manage to get many pictures of the colorful ones. Maybe next time, yes I'm hoping someday there will be a next time. :)
 5. One morning we got up early and took a bike, boat, and beach tour. When we woke up that morning we were both regretting the decision to do this tour, but I'm so glad we went because it was probably my very favorite thing we did. We took a boat ride to a certain part of the island the biking around for about an hour. We stopped to look at the smallest draw bridge in the world and to hike to a military base. Then we road back and swam. My kinda of morning.
6. And my final favorite thing, this fabulous cheesecake. Who woulda thought Bermuda had the best original cheesecake? Not me, but it did. It was light and fluffy and I wish I could have brought some home to share.

Brandon and I enjoying some Italian food.
We had such a wonderful time staying up late, sleeping in, doing whatever we wanted during the day, eating out, spending some time alone, and visiting with great people. Thank you, THANK YOU to my sweet husband for an amazing trip.
